This theme includes; what is identity? How does knowing who you are affect the way you are seen and projected in society? What’s in a name?

We use the animated block buster The Lion King to demonstrate the strength of identity
B4: PROBLEMS DUE TO LACK OF IDENTITY
Shakespeare wrote, to your own self be true. However what are the effects if one does not know who they really are. We look at the problems many youth encounter due to this deficiency.

A look at street culture and the importance of knowing who you are within that context.
B6: GUNZ IN THE HOOD
We examine the destructive nature of guns in our neighbourhoods. Where do these guns come from and does having a gun make you more of a man or woman.

We travel around the world and investigate why we see things the way we do and how the media or bad educational practices can give us false interpretations.
B8: TRUE HISTORY OF GANG CULTURE
Were street gangs (youth organisations) always a negative thing? This study starts in the USA and brings it back to the shores of the UK.
B9: CITIZENSHIP VIA SPORTS
Sport teaches us big lessons for life. Most sports involve teamwork and teach us how to get along with others, how to work together to achieve a common goal, and about trust and responsibility.

The human self is made of many psychological components. This workshops looks at what many psychologist call the basic seven, and then we discuss which of these should be the ruler.

This workshops looks at the various statistics coming from the USA with relation to their Black males. Is there any relationship between these figures and the Black males in the UK? Is there anything we can do now to stop us loosing another two or three generations?

We look at ten harmful effects of watching too much TV and the messages many of the programmes send to the youth about who they are and their potential.
